Advisory Council

The Chancellery Committee of the Parliament has appointed the following Members of Parliament as members of the Advisory Council of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs: Christina Gestrin, Satu Haapanen, Susanna Huovinen (Vice-Chair), Seppo Kääriäinen, Maria Lohela, Sari Palm, Pertti Salolainen (Chairman) and Jyrki Yrttiaho. In addition to the aforementioned, the Chancellery Committee also appointed twelve other members from the Institute’s central affiliates. They are Executive Vice President Anne Brunila, Managing Director Kristiina Helenius, Member of the Board of Bank of Finland Seppo Honkapohja, Editor-in-Chief Matti Kalliokoski, Editor-in-Chief Lauri Kontro, Academy Professor Martti Koskenniemi, Secretary General Kristiina Kouros, Director Gunvor Kronman, Vice President Riitta Mustonen, Master of Arts Pauliina Parhiala, Secretary of State Pertti Torstila and Rector Vesa Tynkkynen. The Council’s duties include monitoring the Institute’s operations and liaising with relevant FIIA stakeholders. In addition, the Advisory Council monitors the societal impact of the Institute’s activities. The Council serves a four-year term of office, which commenced on 1 June 2011. |
