The Finnish Institute of International Affairs is directed by a board appointed by the Parliament and is currently chaired by Minister Antti Tanskanen.The other board members are
Kimmo Kiljunen, PhD Liisa Laakso, Professor
Päivi Luostarinen, Ambassador Pirkko Mattila, Member of the Parliament
Riina Nevamäki, State Secretary from the Ministry of Employment and the Economy
Ilkka Suominen, Minister Mikko Viitasalo, Professor Thomas Wilhelmsson, Rector of the University of Helsinki. The board decides, among other things, on the Institute’s finances and research programme, which is realized by the Institute’s researchers according to the principles of academic autonomy. The board also appoints the Director of the Institute. |
