Kehityspoliittinen ohjelma: kartta vai hyvien aikomusten ostoslista?

Kehityspoliittinen toimenpideohjelma on eräänlainen kartta: poliittinen pelkistys moniulotteisesta todellisuudesta.

Sota Afganistanissa on perustunut alusta asti voimakkaasti mielikuviin.

Belarus: the silenced revolution

The street protests that agitated Belarus in June-July failed to evolve into a massive popular uprising. Even if the “clapping revolution” fell apart, Lukashenka’s authoritarian regime won but one round in its fight for survival.

The end of discussion?

At the moment, three interrelated questions dominate the debate about Russian politics. Will the Prime Minister Putin return as a president after 2012? What are the President Medvedev’s chances to stay in power for the second term? Last but not least, are we witnessing a growing schism between the two?
